Bruno Rodr\u00edguez Parrilla, Cuba\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that Chilean President Jos\u00e9 Antonio Kast\u2019s support for a military aggression against the island is a dangerous and confrontational attitude, reflecting his subservience to the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The foreign minister\u2019s message responds to recent statements by the Chilean head of state, who considers Cuba to be living under a dictatorship and would support external military action to overthrow it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s no surprise that President Kast speaks of dictatorships in Latin America and the Caribbean, since he knows them very well, having supported the one that violently usurped power and ruled his country for almost twenty years, causing deaths, disappearances, and much harm to the Chilean people,\u201d the Cuban foreign minister stated on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that the president, as a known Pinochet supporter, reflects in his statements a total disregard for International Law and the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cuba is not a threat, Bruno Rodr\u00edguez asserted, and emphasized that his country will always advocate for respect and peace among nations, but will not accept impositions of any kind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also acknowledged that President Kast\u2019s position does not reflect the opinion of the Chilean people, who are united with Cuba by deep ties of friendship and solidarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
