After these climbs, Narvaez and Meurisse formed a breakaway, holding on for over 90 kilometers in heavy rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The peloton, led by Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), gradually reduced the breakaway\u2019s advantage, which went from three minutes to half a minute in the final meters of the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the pressure, Narvaez and Meurisse maintained enough of a gap to contest the stage win. The Ecuadorian prevailed in the sprint, achieving victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the ascent of the Schwagalp Passhohe, Narvaez and Meurisse consolidated their advantage over a chasing group and the peloton, reaching more than four minutes before the gap narrowed again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 29-year-old Ecuadorian secured his 41st professional victory with a time of 3:34:46 and moved up one place in the general classification, now sitting ninth, 4:57 behind Pogacar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the general classification, Pogacar leads with a time of 10:29:52, followed by Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) at 2:50, and Italian Andrea Bagioli (Lidl-Trek) at 3:07, consolidating their podium positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fourth stage will be a 23.8-kilometer individual time trial in Aarburg, while the fifth and final stage, with over 151 kilometers, will determine the final classification of the Tour de Suisse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Source: teleSUR English<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, Ecuadorian cyclist Jhonatan Narvaez (UAE) won the third stage of the 2026 Tour de Suisse, outsprinting Belgian Xandro Meurisse (Pinarello-Q36.5) in Bad Ragaz.
