\u201cThe passing of Commander of the Revolution, Ramiro Vald\u00e9s Men\u00e9ndez, is deeply painful, like the loss of a father,\u201d the president wrote in his message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President recalled the respect and affection he always felt for him, as well as his support, advice, discreet collaboration, and exemplary dedication to the service of the Homeland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D\u00edaz-Canel emphasized that every act in Vald\u00e9s Men\u00e9ndez\u2019s life was marked by his absolute loyalty to the leadership of Fidel and Ra\u00fal Castro Ruz, to his comrades in arms, and to the Moncada Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that this loyalty remained from the attack on the Moncada Barracks in 1953 until his last breath, which occurred this Father\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
