{"id":12095,"date":"2026-07-15T14:18:03","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T18:18:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radiorebelde.cu\/english\/?p=12095"},"modified":"2026-07-15T14:18:05","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T18:18:05","slug":"16-tons-of-brazilian-powdered-milk-arrive-in-cuba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.radiorebelde.cu\/english\/16-tons-of-brazilian-powdered-milk-arrive-in-cuba-15072026\/","title":{"rendered":"16 Tons of Brazilian Powdered Milk Arrive in Cuba"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Tuesday, Cuba received the first 16 of 48 tons of powdered milk donated by Brazil to help ease shortages caused by the U.S. oil blockade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>RELATED:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.telesurenglish.net\/cuba-registers-third-total-blackout-in-eight-days\/\">Cuba Registers Third Total Blackout in Eight Days<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first shipment arrived at Antonio Maceo International Airport in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba, \u201cin a context marked by the tightening of the U.S. blockade against the island and the restrictions on fuel imports imposed by the U.S. government,\u201d the official newspaper Granma said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The director of Empresa Lactea Santiago, Eduardo Gri\u00f1an, thanked Brazil for the donation, saying it \u201cadds to many other expressions of its unconditional solidarity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Monday, the Brazilian Foreign Ministry began shipping the 48 tons of powdered milk to Cuba. The action complements the delivery of medicines and 170,000 tons of rice, 150 tons of black beans and 500 tons of powdered milk, channeled through the World Food Program (WFP). Currently, the Brazilian government is evaluating new donations of food and medicines in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For about the past six years, arbitrary U.S. sanctions have driven Cuba into a crisis characterized by shortages of basic goods, constant power outages, runaway inflation, partial dollarization and the collapse of basic services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">U.S. pressure has further worsened the situation of the Cuban people, especially because of the oil blockade imposed since January.
