We believe in you,\u201d said Cuban President Miguel D\u00edaz-Canel on Tuesday at the youth forum of the 1st International Colloquium \u201cFidel: Legacy and Future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Cuban leader, accompanied by Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba, attended the session where hundreds of delegates from various countries gathered, who reiterated their commitment to the ideas of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
D\u00edaz-Canel urged those present to confront the current imperialist offensive against the Global South, marked by conservative and fascist ideas spread through a media, cultural and ideological war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the moving gathering dedicated to Fidel and young people, several socialist and progressive leaders spoke, inspired by the legacy of the Commander-in-Chief in addressing the challenges of our time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jos\u00e9 Alejandro Alonso C\u00e1ceres, president of the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Organization of Students (OCLAE), highlighted Fidel\u2019s leading role in the organization\u2019s founding and emphasized the need for everyone to promote anti-imperialist integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Young voices from Europe and Latin America also expressed their solidarity with Cuba, condemned the attempts at aggression against the island and evoked the enduring influence of Fidel Castro\u2019s ideals in the year of his centennial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The youth forum \u201cWe Believe in You\u201d was part of the second day of the international colloquium \u201cFidel: Legacy and Future,\u201d which brings together nearly two thousand delegates in Havana, including more than a thousand foreigners from almost 70 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
