He affirmed that there will be no turning back in the fight against the blockade imposed by Washington on the largest island in the Antilles and highlighted the firm support given to the Cuban Revolution by the participants in the first International Colloquium \u201cFidel: Legacy and Future,\u201d recently held in Havana with the participation of delegates from 62 countries across all continents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhile U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio unleashes his fury with diplomatic pressure to isolate Cuba, the world continues to support the island, whose people are an example of resistance and dignity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last Thursday, Cuba rejected the Dominican Republic\u2019s act of subservience to the aggressive policy of the United States by expelling, without any justification, 10 diplomatic officials from the Cuban Embassy and their families from the Caribbean nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses that this measure has no other explanation than the Dominican Republic\u2019s submission to pressure from the U.S. government, \u201cwhich, in its determination to isolate Cuba, has set out to damage our diplomatic relations with the countries of the region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It adds that examples of this are \u201cCuba\u2019s exclusion from the postponed 10th Summit of the Americas and the Dominican Republic\u2019s change of vote on the Cuban resolution against the blockade in the UN General Assembly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Numerous voices in the Dominican Republic have risen up against the servile stance of its government, just as friends of Cuba within the United States reject the policy of isolation against the island, reaffirming their solidarity and support in the fight against the blockade and all forms of aggression by Washington against the Caribbean nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
