The plot explores the tension between social labels and personal construction.

Di Marco explained that the goal is to portray a character with a disability from a position of power and attractiveness, breaking with the violent or limiting vision that often predominates on the big screen.

The directors emphasized that the film is not about disability itself, but rather is narrated from the perspective of a person with a disability, highlighting that this condition is just a characteristic and does not define the character.

Picoli noted that the biggest challenge was “convincing the system” of the importance of portraying disability differently, in a society that tends to classify and label people constantly.

The film’s presence in Venice gives the community visibility, though the filmmakers clarified that they do not seek to represent the entire queer and disabled community, but rather to offer a perspective that portrays disability as positive and successful.

The project was developed over almost a decade, reflecting the difficulties the Brazilian film industry faces in sustaining productions. Picoli called for greater institutional stability and public support for Brazilian cinema.

teleSUR: JP

Source: EFE

Source: teleSUR

The Brazilian film “London,” directed by Victor Di Marco and Marcio Picoli, was presented at the International Critics’ Week of the 83rd Venice Film Festival as a film that challenges…

[4

8
post-12971","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-cultural
https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/e6145d63ff95c9a0f0e53b7149804b1faf86748d6cc15f466103269a288ea377?s=96&d=mm&r=g
["GET
