Ukraine Attack on Zaporozhye Bus Stop Kills 1 and Injures 17<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\u201cAs a result of a Ukrainian drone attack, a radiation monitoring post at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, located 13 kilometers from the plant near the town of Ivanovka, was damaged,\u201d plant representatives said in a statement on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The post is part of a radiation monitoring system in the plant\u2019s area that provides periodic data on radiation levels and allows for an immediate response to possible changes in the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sept. 13, Russia also reported that Ukraine had attacked the training center at the Zaporozhye nuclear plant with drones more than 10 times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, Alexei Likhachev, director of Russia\u2019s state nuclear agency, Rosatom, reported the deaths of two Russian servicemen in a Ukrainian attack on trucks carrying fuel for the plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Russia\u2019s 3-Year Budget to Prioritize Defense<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nOn Monday, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that ensuring Russia\u2019s defense and security would be one of the federal budget\u2019s priorities for the next three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Finance Ministry\u2019s tasks have always been to strike a balance and to ensure that this balance does not affect the economy or the high cost of money, and that funds go to the most important things \u2014 which for us now are defense and frontline tasks,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at the Moscow Financial Forum, Siluanov also mentioned that Russia\u2019s 2027 federal budget would be set with a deficit of about 2% of GDP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commenting on a new sanctions bill adopted by the United States targeting Russia\u2019s energy and defense sectors, Siluanov said: \u201cYou know, we\u2019ve probably already built up immunity to all kinds of sanctions \u2014 hellish or not. We just go about our business, and the hellish sanctions, as they say, bounce off our financial policy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
