Members of the Italian movement \u201cRuta a Cuba\u201d (Route to Cuba) delivered a shipment of solidarity aid \u2014 consisting of school supplies \u2014 to an educational institution in Havana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the handover ceremony, Luis G\u00f3ngora, principal of the Arturo Montori elementary school, expressed gratitude for the gesture on behalf of the institution\u2019s staff and the students\u2019 parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his remarks, G\u00f3ngora highlighted the importance of this aid in strengthening the school\u2019s educational process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nicoleta Griego, a representative of the Italian General Confederation of Labour (CGIL), speaking on behalf of the caravan members, emphasized the Italian people\u2019s willingness to continue delivering humanitarian aid to the Caribbean nation, particularly as sanctions imposed by the United States have intensified since January.

In exclusive statements to Prensa Latina, Griego criticized the stance taken by her country\u2019s current government toward Havana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe currently have a right-wing government in Italy that answers to the interests of the United States,\u201d she asserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She noted that one of the objectives is to pressure the government to adopt a stance condemning the blockade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The aid collected by \u201cRuta a Cuba\u201d will also be delivered to the Calixto Garc\u00eda Clinical-Surgical Teaching Hospital and other institutions in the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
