The member of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament described the holding of the third European Union (EU)-Cuba Joint Council in Havana on Friday and the opportunity it represents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In that regard, he advocated the parties\u2019 commitment to multilateralism and relations based on mutual respect, solidarity, and social justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Smeriglio recalled that in 2016, the EU and Cuba signed a Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement, to which he attributed the facilitation of exchanges in areas such as trade, human rights, the fight against terror, education, emigration, culture, and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
