Many Indigenous communities were expelled from their ancestral territory over the course of decades, including during the military dictatorship.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nine of the 11 justices sided with Indigenous peoples, who gathered outside the Supreme Court in Bras\u00edlia Thursday in an emotional celebration following news of the ruling. Many wept with joy; others danced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One Indigenous leader, Xain\u00e3 Pitaguary, told reporters: \u201cWe\u2019re getting emotional.
