{"id":3925,"date":"2023-12-12T10:01:28","date_gmt":"2023-12-12T14:01:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radiorebelde.cu\/english\/?p=3925"},"modified":"2023-12-12T10:01:42","modified_gmt":"2023-12-12T14:01:42","slug":"cuba-attends-un-anti-corruption-conference-in-the-u-s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.radiorebelde.cu\/english\/cuba-attends-un-anti-corruption-conference-in-the-u-s-12122023\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuba attends UN anti-corruption conference in the U.S."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Cuba is attending the Tenth Session of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (COSP10), which began Monday in the U.S. city of Atlanta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cuban delegation is headed by the Comptroller General of the Republic, Gladys Bejerano, and includes officials from the Attorney General&#8217;s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the world&#8217;s largest anti-corruption meeting and takes place every two years, when the Parties to the Convention meet in a common space to review its implementation and discuss how to improve international cooperation and better prevent and address the scourge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The United Nations Convention against Corruption is the only universal legally binding instrument to combat this crime and has almost universal acceptance, with 190 States Parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Negotiated in Vienna and adopted by the General Assembly in 2003, the Convention celebrates its twentieth anniversary this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cuba is attending the Tenth Session of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (COSP10), which began Monday in the U.S. city of Atlanta.
