{"id":4326,"date":"2024-02-06T00:31:35","date_gmt":"2024-02-06T04:31:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radiorebelde.cu\/english\/?p=4326"},"modified":"2024-02-06T00:31:48","modified_gmt":"2024-02-06T04:31:48","slug":"cuban-virtual-diver-qualifies-for-paris-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.radiorebelde.cu\/english\/cuban-virtual-diver-qualifies-for-paris-2024-06022024\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuban virtual diver qualifies for Paris-2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Cuban diver Anisley Garc\u00eda finished 19th in the individual platform at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha (Qatar), and virtually qualified for the Paris-2024 Olympic Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The qualification process in the women&#8217;s 10m platform awarded Olympic places to the 12 best divers who had not previously qualified in other events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the first ones now in Doha, seven already had Olympic tickets, so the champion of the San Salvador-2023 Centrocaribes will be in Paris, although the International Federation (FINA) will announce the official list at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anisley, 22, placed 19th in preliminaries with 259.90 points, and was just one spot away from entering the semifinals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The platform final will take place this Monday, and Mexicans Alejandra Orozco and Gabriela Agundez will compete for Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another Cuban diver who already competed in Doha, 18-year-old Frank Abel Rosales, finished in a meritorious 15th place in the 1m springboard, with 317.40 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The non-Olympic event was won by Mexico&#8217;s Osmar Olvera, followed by Australia&#8217;s Shixin Li.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cuban diver Anisley Garc&iacute;a finished 19th in the individual platform at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha (Qatar), and virtually qualified for the Paris-2024 Olympic Games.
