The Minister of Public Works of Bolivia, Edgar Monta\u00f1o, warned this Thursday that heavy transport leaders, led by H\u00e9ctor Mercado, are trying to repeat a coup d’\u00e9tat with an indefinite strike, regardless of the call for dialogue with President Luis Arce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want to alert the population that if they make that decision to go on an indefinite strike we would be on the verge of the beginning of a coup d’\u00e9tat. I want to inform the population that indeed these gentlemen, during the administration of Comrade Evo (Morales), also began with blockades to carry out a coup d’\u00e9tat and are wanting to repeat the same formula,” the minister indicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During a press conference, the Minister of Public Works, Edgar Monta\u00f1o, announced that after a meeting held on Wednesday in Cochabamba with 20 people and the leader H\u00e9ctor Mercado confirmed that they would block roads and carry out an indefinite strike starting Monday, the 17th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also reported that on repeated occasions he summoned H\u00e9ctor Mercado to talk and received the response that he would not attend his calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For his part, the president of the nation, Luis Arce, will host the cooperative and heavy transport on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16, at the Casa Grande del Pueblo, to talk about their demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
