Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has made new comments stressing the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the urgent delivery of aid to its population. Speaking on the sidelines of the EU-Egypt Investment Conference held in Cairo, el-Sisi also warned against any expansion of the conflict amid growing threats of an all-out war between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe call on the international community to take serious and rapid steps to prevent the region from sliding into a new and unprecedented cycle of conflict,\u201d the president said in Cairo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In other news, the Palestinian news agency Wafa is reporting that at least three people have been killed in an Israeli air attack on Rafah, in southern Gaza. A correspondent said the victims were transported to Nasser Hospital in the nearby city of Khan Younis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
