Havana, Sept 19 (JIT) – Elier Miranda’s victory on the third board sealed Cuba’s victory over Paraguay in the seventh round of the open group at the Budapest Chess Olympiad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Miranda, national champion in 2023, took advantage of the mistakes of Jose Cubas in command of the white pieces, to defeat him and define the victory with a score of 2.5-1.5 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the victory, the Cubans moved up to 33rd place in the ranking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carlos Daniel Albornoz and Axel Bachmann, , Luis Ernesto Quesada against the Cuban nationalized Paraguayan Neuris Delgado and Omar Almeida against Antonio Almir\u00f3n, split points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Cubans have so far completed five victorious performances and will be rivals this Thursday of the representatives of Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the day, the Indian team defeated China 2.5-1.5 and appears as the only one that has scored all possible points (14), one more than Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
