Cuban President Miguel D\u00edaz-Canel on Friday highlighted his country’s incorporation into the BRICS group as an associate member, approved at the XVI Summit of the organization held in Kazan, Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On his profile on the social network X, the head of state assured that “Cuba is honored to enter as a partner country in the BRICS, five letters and a great hope for the countries of the South, on the arduous path towards a more just, democratic, equitable and sustainable international order.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Likewise, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodr\u00edguez reaffirmed Cuba’s interest and commitment to work together with the members of that group in defense of multilateralism, peace, International Law and the construction of a development and cooperation agenda that responds to the priorities of the South.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Caribbean nation was admitted as an associate member of BRICS along with 12 other countries: Algeria, Belarus, Bolivia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
