The United Nations special rapporteur on human rights in Palestinian territories has warned that Israel\u2019s genocidal acts may spread from Gaza to the West Bank, amid an ongoing large-scale military operation in the occupied city of Jenin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Francesca Albanese made the remarks in a post on X on Wednesday, as the Israeli regime has escalated brutal violence in the West Bank since the ceasefire in Gaza went into effect over the weekend. \u201cAs the long awaited ceasefire in Gaza took place, Israel\u2019s death machinery escalated its firing in the West Bank, killing 10 people in Jenin [on Tuesday],\u201d Albanese said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf it is not forced to stop, Israel\u2019s genocide of Palestinians will not be confined to Gaza. Mark my words,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the Israeli deadly violence continues in the West Bank, regional countries have voiced serious concerns over the Israeli atrocities and their fallout. Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi described Israeli military offensive in West Bank as \u201cdangerous,\u201d saying the violent raids could \u201cdestabilize\u201d the security of the entire region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also on Wednesday, Palestinian channels on Telegram shared videos showing Israeli forces heading towards the Jenin refugee camp with military bulldozers, after leaving the al-Jalama checkpoint in the West Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other footage showed Israeli forces heading towards Jabal Street in the Jenin camp, after storming the city at dawn. This came a day after Israeli forces killed at least 10 Palestinians and injured dozens of others in an attack on Jenin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The attack on Jenin, where the regime\u2019s forces have carried out multiple raids and large-scale incursions over the past year, comes only two days after the start of a long-awaited ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hamas urged Jenin\u2019s \u201cyouth to mobilize and escalate confrontations with the Israeli army.\u201d The resistance group said that the offensive \u201claunched by the occupation in Jenin will fail, just like all its previous military operations against our people,\u201d in Gaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the past few years, the Israeli military has conducted numerous raids in the West Bank, which escalated after the onset of the genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023. Palestinians have also been violently attacked by illegal Israeli settlers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At least 859 Palestinians have since been killed and over 6,700 others injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied territory, according to the Health Ministry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
