An Israeli court has sentenced a 15-year-old Palestinian child to 18 years in prison for alleged involvement in an attack in the occupied West Bank, a prisoners’ advocacy group says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement released on Sunday, the Palestinian Prisoner Society said the court also ordered Mohammed Basel Zalbani, from the Shu\u2019fat refugee camp, east of occupied East al-Quds, to pay 300,000 shekels ($83,333) in compensation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the central court session, the soldier’s brother attempted to assault and push Mohammed and threatened him several times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zalbani was accused of involvement in the killing of an Israeli soldier at a checkpoint in the Shu\u2019fat camp in 2023 He was arrested on February 13, 2023, from inside a bus in the camp and charged with attempting a stabbing attack, which allegedly led to the soldier’s death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
