{"id":7727,"date":"2025-03-24T22:20:07","date_gmt":"2025-03-25T02:20:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radiorebelde.cu\/english\/?p=7727"},"modified":"2025-03-24T22:20:10","modified_gmt":"2025-03-25T02:20:10","slug":"cuban-delegation-pays-tribute-to-jose-marti-in-senegal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.radiorebelde.cu\/english\/cuban-delegation-pays-tribute-to-jose-marti-in-senegal-24032025\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuban delegation pays tribute to Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed in Senegal\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Cuban delegation that visited Senegal, lby Foreign Minister Bruno Rodr\u00edguez, paid tribute to the National Hero Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed, the Cuban Embassy reported this Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before the bust, which is part of the permanent collection of the African Renaissance Monument, Rodr\u00edguez laid a wreath, accompanied by representatives of the Association of Friendship and Solidarity between the Peoples of Senegal and Cuba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students from the Hispanic Circle of Cheik anta Diop University also participated, led by Djibril Mbaye, head of the Romance Languages \u200b\u200bDepartment at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences at that institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bust is the work of Cuban visual artist Alberto Lescay and was unveiled in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Birame Mbarou Diouf, the museum&#8217;s general manager, explained the institution to the foreign minister, specifically the fresco that reflects the history of African emancipation, depicting key figures in that struggle, such as Ahmed S\u00e9kou Tour\u00e9, Nelson Mandela, and Am\u00edlcar Cabral, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These images also feature the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, alongside the first Angolan president, Agostinho Neto, for their contributions to the liberation of African men and women, and against neocolonialism and imperialist ambitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They were also able to appreciate the Living Heritages exhibition, inaugurated on March 13 in conjunction with the embassies of Colombia and Venezuela.
