Cuban President Miguel D\u00edaz-Canel has sent congratulations through his X account to former Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff on her reelection as president of the New Development Bank (NDB), a BRICS member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the social network, the head of state wished Rousseff success in such an important role and reaffirmed the prominent role of the NDB as a platform for promoting cooperation between emerging and developing economies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The New Development Bank is a multilateral institution established by Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, the founding member states of the BRICS group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In early 2025, the bloc accepted Indonesia as a full member, joining Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates, also members of the organization. Associate member states of the group include Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, and Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
