Speaking at the second United Nations summit on tourism in Africa and the Americas, the Cuban representative, Ambassador to Zimbabwe Susellys P\u00e9rez Mesa, called for a united effort to enhance tourism strategies and explore innovative ways of cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She characterized the interconnectedness of these areas as crucial, and emphasized the need to promote the sharing and development of paths that enhance these destinations, while prioritizing environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In P\u00e9rez\u2019s view, Cuba and Africa share a deep bond based on history, shared ancestry, and cultural ties, with a relationship characterized by mutual support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She expressed gratitude for Zambia’s warm welcome and mentioned the upcoming International Tourism Fair 2025, which is set to take place in Havana from April 30 to May 3 and is the most significant professional event in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the same vein, she acknowledged the efforts of the United Nations and the chance this gathering provides to foster communication and collaboration, which are essential for the long-term growth of the smoke-free industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Cuban diplomat, the tourism industry is facing substantial obstacles but also offers chances for innovation and transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
