The Cuban shooting team that competed in the World Rifle and Pistol Championships in Cairo, Egypt, concluded its participation in the competition this Thursday with a strong performance from Laina P\u00e9rez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the 25-meter pistol event, the multi-medalist from the Pan American and Central American Games achieved a cumulative score of 282 in accuracy and 295 in rapid fire, for a total of 577. With this result, the athlete from Matanzas placed 37th out of 85 competitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her performance was the second-highest score of the competition for a shooter from the Americas, surpassed only by American Katelyn Morgan (582).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Laina also significantly improved her performance in the previous edition of this event, held in Baku in 2013. There, the Cuban athlete finished in 71st place with 570 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
