{"id":9543,"date":"2025-12-04T23:13:54","date_gmt":"2025-12-05T03:13:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radiorebelde.cu\/english\/?p=9543"},"modified":"2025-12-04T23:13:55","modified_gmt":"2025-12-05T03:13:55","slug":"always-alejandro-exhibition-an-intimate-look-at-fidel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.radiorebelde.cu\/english\/always-alejandro-exhibition-an-intimate-look-at-fidel-04122025\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cAlways Alejandro\u201d Exhibition: An intimate look at Fidel"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The opening of the \u201cAlways Alejandro\u201d exhibition by National Prize for Visual Arts winner Nelson Dom\u00ednguez paid tribute in this capital to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, during the celebrations for the centennial of his birth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This exhibition, located in the \u201cCinco Palmas\u201d Hall of the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, consists of 18 canvases in which Dom\u00ednguez does not pursue a faithful portrait, but rather a profound and personal interpretation of the figure of the Commander-in-Chief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The artist explained that through his style he explores diverse facets of Fidel: in the Sierra Maestra mountains, in moments of study and reflection, with children, and in full connection with nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy purpose was never to create a portrait of Fidel as the central figure in the work, but rather an interpretation of how Cubans perceive him,\u201d Dom\u00ednguez stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Juan Mart\u00edn Soler, curator of the exhibition, affirmed that the intention is to convey not only the physical image, but also the psychological essence and the multiplicity of roles of the revolutionary leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The title \u201cAlways Alejandro\u201d alludes to the nom de guerre used by Fidel during the clandestine struggle, a name that, according to the artist, most powerfully evokes the man of action and strategist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This exhibition is the fruit of an intense process of study and artistic exploration: \u201cI am studying, searching for my fidelity, my own Fidel,\u201d expressed the artist, who recalled personal anecdotes that shaped his perception of the leader since childhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the opening, Fidel\u2019s extraordinary gesture toward culture was highlighted, exemplified by his taking two planes full of Cuban artists to inaugurate an exhibition abroad: \u201cThat tells you who Fidel was,\u201d Dom\u00ednguez affirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition \u201cAlways Alejandro\u201d has among its main objectives to bring new generations closer to the figure of Fidel Castro, conveying the relevance of his legacy and his deep connection with the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IMAGE CREDIT:&nbsp;
