The Venezuelan Minister of the Interior, Justice, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, confirmed this Wednesday during his program \u201cCon el Mazo Dando\u201d that at least 100 people, mostly young people, were killed during the US military aggression against Venezuela, which culminated in the kidnapping of President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minister reiterated the Venezuelan state\u2019s unanimous support for Delcy Rodr\u00edguez, appointed interim president, following the kidnapping of President Maduro, and asserted that \u201cVenezuela will not surrender because it is a nation with history and a legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are fully supporting Delcy Rodr\u00edguez, the interim president, in the face of the kidnapping of our president, Nicol\u00e1s Maduro,\u201d he stated, emphasizing that both leaders are wounded and that, as a nation, they are waging \u201cthe battle for the return of the constitutional president and the First Lady, Cilia Flores.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his remarks, the minister condemned the U.S. operation as a violation of international law and reiterated that President Maduro is a \u201cprisoner of war.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe entire world now knows that Nicol\u00e1s Maduro is a prisoner of war, and the United States violated all norms of international conduct,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that he possesses videos proving that the aggression was not limited to military targets, but directly affected the civilian population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Diosdado Cabello paid tribute to the fallen, including Venezuelans and Cubans, and highlighted the \u201ctrue and genuine love story\u201d between President Maduro and Cilia Flores, whom he described as symbols of resistance. \u201cThe people are in the streets supporting Nicol\u00e1s Maduro, Cilia Flores, and the Constitution,\u201d he asserted, emphasizing that \u201cthere has not been a single demonstration in favor of barbarism.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minister also refuted accusations of \u201cnarco-terrorism\u201d and \u201clack of democracy,\u201d stating that the external offensive is due to Venezuela\u2019s natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe problem is not democracy; the problem is the resources the nation possesses,\u201d he declared, noting that the U.S. justice system itself has recognized the non-existence of the \u201cCartel of the Suns.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, he called for a review of history: \u201cEvery president who has protected natural resources has suffered a coup d\u2019\u00e9tat.\u201d In that context, he reaffirmed that the Constitution is being fully upheld in Venezuela and that all institutions support the interim president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe only guarantee of peace in Venezuela is the Bolivarian Revolution,\u201d Cabello emphasized, thanking the people for remaining calm and asserting that \u201cwhat the U.S. is doing to Venezuela today, they could do to anyone, and no one would be able to respond.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also noted that the U.S. military aggression against the country has generated widespread anti-American sentiment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally, he expressed his gratitude for the messages of solidarity sent by nations around the world in response to the military aggression and the president\u2019s kidnapping. \u201cThe only guarantee of peace in Venezuela is the Bolivarian Revolution,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
