{"id":9667,"date":"2026-01-15T19:54:31","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T23:54:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radiorebelde.cu\/english\/?p=9667"},"modified":"2026-01-15T19:54:32","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T23:54:32","slug":"nobody-tells-us-what-to-do","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.radiorebelde.cu\/english\/nobody-tells-us-what-to-do-15012026\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cNobody tells us what to do\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u201cSick with rage at this people\u2019s sovereign decision to choose their political model,\u201d after their \u201center and destroy\u201d Cuba\u2014one of the most recent threats \u2014 the occupant of the Oval Office and his death squad issued an ultimatum against Cuba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Island, as a \u201cfree, independent, and sovereign nation,\u201d which \u201cdoes not attack, but has been attacked by the U.S. for 66 years, and does not threaten, but prepares, ready to defend the Homeland to the last drop of blood,\u201d has said: \u201cNobody tells us what to do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was stated by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel D\u00edaz-Canel Berm\u00fadez, following statements by US President Donald Trump, who attempted to intimidate the Cuban people by claiming that \u201cthere will be no more oil or money for Cuba. Zero! I strongly recommend that you reach an agreement before it\u2019s too late.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rejecting the anti-Cuban rhetoric, the Cuban leader emphasized: \u201cThose who turn everything into a business, even human lives, have no moral authority to point the finger at Cuba in any way, absolutely in any way. (\u2026) Those who blame the Revolution for the severe economic shortages we suffer should be ashamed to remain silent. Because they know, and acknowledge, that these shortages are the result of the draconian measures of extreme strangulation that the US has been applying to us for six decades and is now threatening to intensify.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The people of the Caribbean nation, \u201cdignified, brave, and heroic,\u201d declared Esteban Lazo Hern\u00e1ndez, member of the Political Bureau and president of the National Assembly of People\u2019s Power and the Council of State, \u201cwill not yield to threats or blackmail. We will defend the Homeland until victory, always.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faced with this new aggression, which disregards sovereignty and self-determination, Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau of the Party and Prime Minister, reiterated on the same social media platform, \u201cthe profound conviction of being an eternal Baragu\u00e1,\u201d and urged a response like Maceo\u2019s: \u201cWhoever tries to seize Cuba will only gather the dust of its soil soaked in blood, if they do not perish in the struggle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To the Washington government, which presents itself as pacifist while simultaneously supporting genocide in Gaza and Lebanon, providing weapons to perpetuate armed conflicts, being responsible for extrajudicial killings in the Caribbean and the Pacific, kidnapping the president of a sovereign nation, and spreading its imperial poison across all continents, Political Bureau member and Central Committee Secretary of Organization Roberto Morales Ojeda reminded them that \u201cCuba stands firm.
