The state-owned National Telecommunications Company S.A. (Entel S.A.) of Bolivia announced the removal of the teleSUR and Russia TV channels from its lineup, citing \u201cadministrative issues.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement dated January 15, Entel notified its users and the general public that, \u201cstarting January 17, 2026, due to administrative reasons, the television channels Russia TV (204) and Telesur (206) will be removed from the channel lineup on its IPTV fiber optic television, DTH satellite television, and Entel TV Smart App services.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reporting on Entel\u2019s decision on social media, teleSUR President Patricia Villegas commented that it was \u201cas predictable as it is condemnable\u201d and that \u201cthere are no reasons\u201d for this step. \u201cTheir arguments fool no one. Bolivia, you know it, we\u2019re still in this together!\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In November 2019, under the government of Jeanine A\u00f1ez, Entel terminated its contract with teleSUR, initially citing \u201ctechnical problems\u201d and later \u201ca reorganization of the television lineup.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn accordance with the reorganization of the television schedule, we inform you of our intention to terminate the General Transmission Conditions for the signal of the new Televisi\u00f3n del Sur,\u201d stated a letter signed by the national customer manager of Entel, which was published on Twitter today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In November 2020, the government, under the presidency of Luis Arce, announced the return of the teleSUR multimedia platform to Bolivia, after a year off the air in the Andean nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
