The President of the United States has instigated his rhetoric against Cuba, stating that \u201cCuba will fail very soon. It is a country that is truly on the verge of failure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The president noted that the Caribbean nation used to receive Venezuelan money and oil, \u201cbut they no longer receive it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These statements were made to journalists in Des Moines, Iowa, where he arrived on a working trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In recent weeks, the U.S. government has increased economic pressure on Havana, including the possibility of a total blockade on the country\u2019s oil imports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Previously, the president acknowledged that his administration has applied all possible measures of pressure and damage against Cuba, except for the military option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an interview with Hugh Hewitt, when asked about the possibility of authorizing a naval \u201cquarantine\u201d like the one he implemented around Venezuela, he stated: \u201cI don\u2019t think much more pressure can be exerted, other than going in and wrecking the place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For its part, the Cuban government has denounced the policy of economic strangulation and intensified warfare against Cuba, which it claims is responsible for serious harm and suffering to Cuban families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
