Real Madrid continued their fight for the Spanish football league title today, beating Atlético 3-2 in the capital derby on matchday 29 with a brace from Brazilian Vinícius Júnior.
Vinícius scored in the 52nd and 72nd minutes, the first from the penalty spot, to lead Real Madrid, who also had a goal from Uruguayan Federico Valverde (55), at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
Nigerian Ademola Lookman gave Atlético Madrid the lead in the 33rd minute, and in the second half, Argentine Nahuel Molina (66) leveled the score at 2-2 for Diego Simone’s side.

In the other Sunday match, Alavés came back from 0-3 down to beat Celta Vigo 4-3 at Balaídos.
Ferran Jutglá shone for the Vigo side, scoring the first (19th minute) and third (37th minute) goals, and providing the assist for Hugo Álvarez’s second (27th minute).
Enrique “Quique” Sánchez Flores’ team paid dearly for their significant defensive lapses, but managed to minimize the blow with a goal from Antonio “Toni” Martínez in the dying moments of the first half (45+3).
In the second half, Ángel Pérez, after a monumental gift from Carlos Domínguez, narrowed the gap in the 50th minute, and Martínez reappeared to complete the comeback and level the score at 3-3 (74th minute).
The final blow came from Algerian Abdel Abqar Rebbach, who calmly scored in the 78th minute to seal a memorable comeback.
Finally, Athletic Club, with goals from Dani Vivian in the 25th minute and Oihan Sancet in the 45th minute, won 2-1 at San Mamés against Real Betis, despite Pablo Fornals’ great free-kick goal in the 75th minute.
