Roberto Morales Ojeda calls for defending the homeland this May Day

Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, emphasized on his Facebook profile that “Cuba is present!   On May 1st, we defend the Homeland.”

The leader stressed that the call to action under the slogan “The Homeland is Defended” constitutes a firm response to the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States, and the recent executive order that imposes an energy embargo.

Morales Ojeda recalled that after more than 65 years of aggression, there is no threat capable of subduing a people who have made dignity their shield.

He noted that celebrating the date is to relive the fortitude of Antonio Maceo in Baraguá, embrace Martí’s ideals of “Los Pinos Nuevos” (The New Pines), and honor the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, who taught that May Day is a day of conscious rebellion and certain victory.

The Cuban leader indicated that the day will not be just another parade, but a demonstration of austerity and rationality, accompanied by enthusiasm from every field, factory, classroom, hospital, and thermoelectric plant.

He expressed that the commitment of Cuban workers is to continue transforming the energy matrix, producing food, and defending life without wavering.

Morales Ojeda affirmed that “together we create for Cuba,” and emphasized that together with supportive friends around the world, they will demonstrate that neither the blockade nor military threats will thwart the project conceived by National Hero José Martí and fulfilled by Fidel.
