On Sunday, June 28, in Pariser Platz, a solidarity rally with Cuba will take place with the participation of members of parliament from Die Linke (The Left Party), trade unionists, and singer-songwriter Orlis Pineda, under the slogan “Hands Off Latin America, Hands Off Cuba!”
The solidarity platform “Cuba Sí” has called for a mass demonstration in the center of Berlin to denounce the aggressive escalation of the US administration against the Cuban people. The event will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in Pariser Platz, in front of the iconic Brandenburg Gate, under the slogan “Hands Off Latin America, Hands Off Cuba!”
A statement from “Cuba Sí” emphasizes that the United States’ National Security Strategy, published in December 2025, has declared the “Western Hemisphere” its exclusive sphere of influence, leading to a tightening of the economic blockade and threats of direct military intervention. The organization denounces the Trump administration’s de facto oil embargo, which aims to cripple the Cuban economy, causing a humanitarian crisis that affects the supply of electricity, water, food, transportation, as well as education and healthcare, with hundreds of thousands of people awaiting surgery in hospitals.
The statement recalls that, despite more than six decades of aggression, Cuba maintains its revolutionary achievements in health, education, and international solidarity, and that this very resistance makes the island a “thorn in the side” for imperialism. “Cuba Sí” demands the immediate end to the illegal and genocidal blockade, as well as the end of all threats of war, and defends the application of international law against the law of the strongest.
Confirmed speakers include Sören Pellmann, president of the Left Party’s parliamentary group in the Bundestag; Frank Bsirske, a prominent trade unionist; Franco Cavalli, president of Medicuba Europe; and Gesine Lötzsch, former president of the Left Party. Representatives of solidarity groups and cultural figures will also participate. The Cuban singer-songwriter Orlis Pineda, from Vallecas, will provide the musical entertainment.
The demonstration will conclude with a call to raise one’s voice against the blockade and any Pentagon intervention, reaffirming that “Cuba is not alone” and that the struggle for the island is part of the battle for a new world order based on justice, cooperation and human dignity.
