Cuban foreign minister announces UN session on the blockade against Cuba on Tuesday

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez has announced his participation in a UN session to address the need to end the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba.

“We are going to the UN with the truth of our people and with the force of International Law, to denounce the aggressive actions of the US against Cuba.”

Bruno Rodríguez asserted that Cubans will defend their sovereign right to live without energy blockades, external strangulation, coercion, threats of war or collective punishment.

“The US government is trying to prevent the UN General Assembly from issuing a statement. It pressures governments and seeks to coerce the sovereign will of member states. But the voice of the people cannot be silenced.”

The foreign minister encouraged the public to follow the debate, scheduled for Tuesday, July 7th, under the premise of defending the UN Charter, peace and sovereign equality among nations.

“Cuba is not a threat. The blockade is,” he emphasized.
