Spain Defeats France and Will Play in its Second World Final

With goals from Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro, Spain beat France 2-0 and will play in their second World Cup final.

Oyarzabal scored a penalty in the 22nd minute after Lucas Digne fouled Lamine Yamal inside the box, and Porro added the second goal in the 58th minute, securing Spain’s victory.

The team managed by Luis de la Fuente dominated the match from start to finish, withstanding attacks from Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, and substitute Désiré Doué, to secure their place in Sunday’s final in New York.

With this win, Spain reached 37 consecutive victories, equaling Italy’s record set between 2018 and 2021.

In their return to a final after 16 years, the Spanish national team will face the winner of the Argentina-England match to claim their second World Cup title, continuing the success of a generation that has already lifted the Nations League trophy in 2023 and the European Championship in  2024.
