Cuban foreign minister denounces Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez denounced on Monday the continued Israeli attacks on towns in southern Lebanon, where white phosphorus was even used, in flagrant violation of International Law and International Humanitarian Law.

The island’s foreign minister demanded that the Israeli regime respect Lebanese sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the processes aimed at peace in the Middle East.

According to Lebanese authorities, the offensive launched on March 2 has resulted in more than 4,352 deaths and more than 12,000 injuries, in addition to the displacement of more than one million people.

The actions persist despite the agreement reached between Beirut and Tel Aviv for a gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops, within the framework of a negotiation process sponsored by the United States.
