On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin turned 74, prompting numerous foreign leaders to congratulate him by phone. Putin, who was born in St. Petersburg in 1952 and has led Russia since 1999, held phone conversations with leaders from the post-Soviet space, including the Belarusian, Armenian, Kyrgyz and Tajik presidents.
