The Third Colloquium on Cuban Library Sciences will take place this Friday at the Economic Society of Friends of the Nation (SEAP), marking the 75th anniversary of the beginning of these studies in the country.
The colloquium will focus on the education of librarians in Cuba and the training in information sciences from a social commitment perspective.
It features a Project Fair by students from the Faculty of Communication, as well as the presentation of the Adelina López Llerandi Provincial Prize, awarded by the Cuban Association of Librarians (ASCUBI).
The event is a collaborative effort between the Cultural Division of the SEAP and the Department of Information Sciences of the Faculty of Communication.
ASCUBI was established on December 27, 1985, with the goal of uniting librarians, both active and retired, along with students and educators in the field of library and information science, and non-library personnel working within their institutions.
