He announces physical requirements and vows to end ‘Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’ policies.
On Tuesday, U.S. War Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that he will impose directives aimed at restoring the “highest male standard” in the Army, including new physical requirements to prevent “fat” and “bearded” soldiers.

“Today, under my direction, each service will ensure that all requirements for every fighter… conform exclusively to the highest male standard… The era of politically correct, overly sensitive leadership ends right now,” he said during a meeting attended by hundreds of U.S. commanders from around the world.
The unprecedented gathering is being held at a Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia, amid widespread alarm over the possibility of new purges among top brass.
The Pentagon chief criticized the presence of “fat soldiers” in formations and warned that it is “completely unacceptable” and “looks bad” to see “fat generals and admirals.”
e ordered that all service members, regardless of rank, must undergo physical tests and measurements “twice a year, every year of service.”
Among the 10 directives Hegseth announced are “personal grooming standards” to eliminate “beards, long hair and superficial, individual expressions,” and a review of “every form of professional military education.”.
“I don’t want my son serving alongside troops who are out of shape or in combat units with women who cannot meet the same physical combat standards as men,” the U.S. War Secretary said, making clear he is unwilling to continue Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies.
“For too long, too many uniformed leaders have been promoted for the wrong reasons: for their race, for gender quotas and for supposed historic achievements. No more climate change. No more division, distraction, or gender delusions, no more debris. As I’ve said before and I’ll say again, we’re done with that crap,” he declared.
This Army veteran has repeatedly expressed contempt for senior officials whom he accuses of injecting liberal ideology into U.S. military culture.
Since taking office earlier this year, the War Secretary Hegseth has dismissed several generals and in May announced his intention to cut the number of four-star generals and admirals by at least 20%.
