The Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter rejected the continued hostile actions of the United States against Venezuela, following the recent attempt by the Donald Trump Administration to impose its will without jurisdiction over Venezuelan airspace.
In a statement, the group emphasized that it “expresses its deepest concern about the serious deterioration of the situation in the Latin American and Caribbean region, as a result of the continued and now dramatically escalated hostile actions and threats by the government of the United States of America against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”

The organization condemned the recent US imperial threats, highlighting that the United States lacks jurisdiction “over the sovereign domain of another state.” It also warned of “the risk of producing an incident that endangers the lives of civilians.” The increase in electronic interference and the jamming of GPS systems by specialized military assets deployed in the Caribbean, as a consequence of the continuous hostile maneuvers carried out by US military aircraft.
In this regard, the organization called on the US government to respect Venezuela’s sovereignty and cease all threats of the use of force and hostile actions, including continued military overflights, maneuvers, and electronic warfare operations near the South American territory. It further demanded the immediate withdrawal of all military assets deployed in threatening proximity to Venezuela and the Greater Caribbean region.
The organization demanded that Washington immediately end all covert and overt operations aimed at destabilizing Venezuela or advancing regime change policies, including any lethal operations carried out by intelligence agencies.
