Venezuelan government denies alleged secret talks between Diosdado Cabello and the United States

The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela categorically denied on Sunday press and social media reports alleging “secret, conspiratorial conversations” between the U.S. and the Minister of the Interior, Justice, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, prior to the military aggression and kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores on January 3rd.

“We categorically deny the malicious information published on social media about alleged secret, conspiratorial conversations, which seeks to divide the country’s political leadership and undermine the prestige and revolutionary integrity of Diosdado Cabello,” the official Miraflores al Momento account posted on X.

Likewise, the Venezuelan government categorically denied another malicious fake news story about an alleged award given to foreign intelligence agents.

Interim President Delcy Rodríguez, who since her inauguration has affirmed that the government is following the course of action set by constitutional president Nicolás Maduro, has called for national unity and stated that “the enemy’s greatest victory would be to divide us, but they will not succeed.”

“Venezuela is experiencing a ‘moment of resistance’ that demands patience, strategic prudence, and clear objectives. Among these, she highlighted three priorities: preserving the peace of the Republic, rescuing President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores, and ensuring that the Bolivarian Revolution maintains political power to defend the people,” she said in a speech earlier this week.
