Five Cubans in master categories will participate in the Punta Cana 2025 Cycling Grand Prix, scheduled for the 6th and 7th of this month.
The team is headed by Joselín Piedra (Group B, 40 to 49 years old), and completed by José Ramón Reyes (C-50 to 59), Eryk Alfredo González (C) and Eridán Alberto González (C), and Roberto Díaz (B).
Ramón Arteaga, organizer of school and master races, will act as technical director, and Yaritza Leiva will be the physiotherapist.
The squad, whose invitation was endorsed by the national commission, travels to the Dominican resort this Thursday.
Piedra and Reyes are regulars in the competitions on Saturday at the La Guayaba circuit, as well as others organized in the capital.
In the Castrol Cup, held last month, they had an outstanding performance, finishing third in the overall individual classification, only surpassed by Douglas Parrado (under-23 years) and Alexandro Rubio (youth).
For more than a decade, the master cyclists have been contributing to the training of the new generations, since there are many who maintain competitive stability, which the women and men of the national pre-selection take advantage of.
