In Beijing's historic Tiananmen Square, a military parade commemorated the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people's victory over Japanese aggression in the World War of Anti-Fascism on September 3.
The march honored the millions of Chinese children who died during the bloody 14 years of armed conflict.
Shortly before the start of the parade, President Xi Jinping welcomed his special guests, including President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.
The Chinese leader then received more than a dozen other dignitaries from all continents who had arrived in Beijing to celebrate Victory Day, including North Korean President Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
President Xi Jinping, after greeting the war veterans, in a message to the nation and the world, expressed his respect to all those who participated in the Chinese people's war of resistance, as well as to those who contributed from around the world.
For more than an hour and a half, more than 10,000 soldiers from China's air, sea, and land forces demonstrated to the world the modernity of their weapons and the military might of the Asian giant.
