Genocide perpetrated by Israel in Gaza denounced

In a report presented, the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territories (created by the UN Human Rights Council) urged Tel Aviv to comply with its legal obligations, put an end to this atrocity, and punish those responsible.

By killing, causing serious bodily or mental injury, deliberately subjecting Palestinians to living conditions that result in the total or partial destruction, and imposing measures aimed at preventing births, Israeli authorities and forces committed four of the five genocidal acts defined in the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of this crime, the report states.

Based on investigations into what happened between October 2023 and July of this year, Commission Chair Navi Pillay stated that “it is evident that there is an intention to destroy the Palestinians as a group.”

She also noted that Israel’s military operations include the killing of people, the imposition of a total siege with the blockade of humanitarian aid that causes famine, the systematic destruction of health and education systems, systematic acts of sexual and gender-based violence, direct attacks on children and religious and cultural sites, among others.
