Havana defeated 2-0 (4×3, 3×2) the monarch exponent and host, Guantanamo, and now is the only undefeated and leads the standings of the regular phase of the 5th National Baseball5 Championship.
With this result, the team led by Coach Sergio Perez has four consecutive wins and sent its Guantanamo rival to second place, tied with Santiago de Cuba (3-1).
Seven teams are participating in the tournament, and the rules establish that the winners of the first two places will compete for the championship. The third and fourth will play for the bronze medal.
In a highly complicated match, Santiago de Cuba lost in the first set against Artemisay. Still, they took advantage of a forfeit in the second set due to the absence of two players in the Artemisa team. With the match tied 1-1, the decision came in a third set in their favor (3×2).
Also, in other duels, Granma won a double. First 2-0 (11×5, 8×1) to Camagüey and then 2-0 (4×3, 8×5) to Ciego de Avila.
