She explained that their meetings will include other countries, as part of a previously agreed-upon agenda regarding international coordination and cooperation.

Sheinbaum noted that Morales and Trevilla will attend solely to listen and maintain Mexico’s position of defending national sovereignty, a principle reiterated since the beginning of her administration.

Garcia and U.S. authorities will hold separate meetings to address cooperation against organized crime, border security, and regional coordination, based on mutual respect and national autonomy.

Previously, Sheinbaum pointed out the importance of direct dialogue to maintain collaboration and stated that military intervention in Mexico was ruled out, following U.S. President Donald Trump’s threats of attacks against cartels.

She rejected the term “narcoterrorism” to justify unilateral actions in the country and noted that Mexico’s Constitution defines terrorism differently, since organized crime does not fit into that legal category.

Sheinbaum insisted that Mexico seeks a good relationship with the United States as neighbors and trading partners, always based on clear principles and understanding, without violating national sovereignty.
