Preventive and anti-drug actions against drug abuse and trafficking will continue this Monday throughout the country, as part of Operation “Contra las drogas se gana” (Win Against Drugs).
For the sixth time nationwide and its eighth edition in the capital, various preventive interventions will be carried out in neighborhoods and communities across the municipalities. These activities include cultural, educational, and social services activities, exchanges and talks by specialists with at-risk populations and patients with addiction, training for social workers, and other factors involved in this context.
In Havana, the Party and government leadership have scheduled these preventive interventions, which will run from the morning hours and conclude in a neighborhood debate at 7:00 p.m.
Likewise, uninterrupted actions against drug-related crimes, exemplary trials, and practical exercises will continue, aiming to increase the preparedness of the forces comprising the counter-insurgency system and the entire population, based on their responsibility in this battle that is shared by all.
With the aim of continuing to raise awareness of this scourge and the perception of risk regarding its impact on health, family stability, and national security, more than 3,300 activities have been held within the context of these monthly events, with the participation of more than 71,800 students, 5,950 workers, and 19,700 families.
