Russia is concerned about human rights violations in Sudan

The Russian diplomatic mission stated, “We are deeply concerned by the reports we are receiving about mass human rights violations in the Sudanese city of El Fasher, which recently came under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).”

The Foreign Minister expressed that the use of violence against the civilian population is unacceptable and contravenes generally recognized international humanitarian regulations.

Moscow urges those responsible for the situation in the city to take the necessary steps to protect its residents, the text underscored, and added that Russia advocates for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Sudan, which has now lasted more than two years, and for the preservation of the country’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Moscow also insists on the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the launch of a comprehensive political process.
