Russian army occupies towns in Donetsk and Zaporozhe

According to the official statement, forces from the Center group continued their offensive in Donetsk and the Ukrainian province of Dnipropetrovsk, capturing the village of Muravka in the former territory.

The Ministry of Defense added that the South group of troops occupied the settlement of Novoivanovka in the Zaporozhe Region.

On August 30, Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov stated that Russian troops currently maintain the strategic initiative and will continue their offensive operations.

According to Gerasimov, the Russian Armed Forces currently control 99.7 percent of the territory of the Luhansk People’s Republic, 79 percent of the Donetsk People’s Republic, 76 percent of the Kherson Region, and 74 percent of the Zaporozhe Region.
