Team Cuba Returned Home

Executives from Inder and the Cuban Baseball and Softball Federation, led by their presidents Osvaldo Vento Montiller and Juan Reinaldo Pérez Pardo, welcomed players, coaches and officials from the team that represented Cuba in the VI World Baseball Classic.

At José Martí International Airport in Havana, the greeting expressed recognition of the winning spirit that accompanied them, despite not achieving their goals, after falling in the first round of the demanding tournament held in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Also present at the airport were the First Vice President of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), Raúl Fornés Valenciano, and the Director of International Relations, Gisleidy Sosa Cabrera.

As is known, the representatives of the largest of the Antilles did not advance to the quarterfinals for the first time in these events, losing 2-7 to Canada, which topped Group A, from which the host team also advanced.

The Cuban team now aims to focus on preparing for the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, to be held this summer.
