The general director of electricity for Unión Eléctrica, Lázaro Guerra Hernández, confirmed the creation of two electrical systems in the country: the first, established between Mariel and Matanzas, supported by the Artemisa power plant to supply electricity to the Antonio Guiteras thermoelectric plant, which is currently in the startup process. The second system was established from Matanzas to Holguín, with a total of 1,000 megawatts served throughout the country.
The executive added that this scenario made it possible to partially dispense with the microsystems created in the territories to provide energy to the residential sector and vital services.
