Unit 3 of the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes thermoelectric plant synchonizes in Cienfuegos

Unit No. 3 of the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Thermoelectric Plant, located in the Cienfuegos Industrial Zone, joined the National Electric Power System (SEN) on September 11, reported the plant's General Director, José Osvaldo González Rodríguez.

The executive noted that after the system went down and once working conditions were guaranteed, they began the restoration process. By Thursday morning, the system was providing 80 MW and continued to increase its load, reaching its peak of 158 MW.

During the current energy emergency, the mountainous municipality of Cumanayagua has been the most affected in terms of access to energy from the microsystems, as well as municipality No. 19 of the Tulipán People's Council. In the province, 26 circuits have been restored, benefiting a total of 57,527 customers, representing 35 percent of the province, with two microsystems and vital public health services in five hospitals.

The priorities have been established, and the temporary working group created within the provincial government is working to guarantee essential vital services and ensure the consolidation of the subsystem, prioritizing pending circuits and those necessary for the economy and the population.
